Do you have geraniums at home and want to cultivate them naturally and effectively to beautify your balcony? You may have thought that buying new plants was the only option, but you can get more from the ones you already have! Discover foolproof and entirely natural tips to fertilize and propagate them for free. Here’s how to make your own fertilizer.
Ingredients:
– 3 drops of castor oil
– 1/2 tablespoon of hydrogen peroxide
– 1 liter of water
Preparation:
1. Mix all the ingredients and apply the mixture directly to the soil to fertilize your geraniums, making them immediately more lush!
And how to propagate them?
Materials:
– Activated charcoal
– Geranium cutting
– Recycled glass
– Twine
– Universal soil
– Perlite
– Old jam jar
Preparation:
1. To propagate your geraniums, start by taking a cutting. Using sanitized scissors, remove the leaves from the cutting, leaving only the top ones.
2. Prepare a bowl with crumbled activated charcoal and dip the live part of the cutting. This will act as a rooting hormone for the plant.
3. Prepare the glass using an old jam jar. Fill it halfway with water. Then, take a recycled paper cup and poke a hole in the bottom.
4. Thread a twine through the inside of the jar, tie it securely, so the longer end remains outside the glass.
5. Fill the glass with a mixture of soil and perlite. Finally, insert the cutting into the glass, then place the glass in the jar so that the twine touches the water.
6. Wait for a few weeks, and your cutting will have rooted, which will take only 20 days before you can transplant it into a new pot!
