Gardell admitted that he had struggled with weight issues for some time and it wasn’t until he found peace with himself that he realized it was time to prioritize his health. The actor shared that he believes it doesn’t matter when someone decides to take care of themselves, as long as they eventually do it.

Despite some minor challenges, such as finding clothes that fit, Gardell is happy with his new weight and the positive impact it has had on his health. He announced that his type 2 diabetes is gone and his resting heartbeat has decreased from 113 to 68.

To stay in good health, Gardell has requested that his producers provide a weight bench and adjustable weights in his trailer so he can exercise when he has time on set. He has also changed his diet, saying he eats healthy, smaller portions and no longer indulges in unhealthy foods regularly.

Although he has received criticism for his weight in the past, Gardell has learned to brush it off and focus on his health. He hopes to inspire others to prioritize their self-care, just as he has.

Gardell also shared that he underwent gastric bypass surgery two years ago, but emphasizes that it’s not a quick fix. Committing to a healthy lifestyle is key to maintaining long-term success. He encourages others to ask for help when needed and to seek support when making lifestyle changes.
